The Veerasaiva Vidyavardhaka Sangha is one of the philanthropic and prestigious society and pioneer in the educational field. It has been formerly registered as "Madras Veerasaiva Vidyavardhaka Sangha” on 7th march, 1918. It was changed to Veerasaiva Vidyavardhaka Sangha, Ballari in 1933. Right from the inception, its main motto is to provide quality education to the student community in this backward region. The Veerasaiva Vidyavardhaka Sangha currently handles 30 institutions starting from primary to Post graduation in all educational sectors. The Sangha is ever expanding, growing and consolidating in the Service of mankind.
SANGHA AS THE BANYAN TREE
The idea of establishing Veerasaiva Vidyavardhaka Sangha in Ballari was proposed in 5th All India Veerasaiva Mahasabha which was held in Ballari in the year 1909 on 27th to 30th December. Sangha started with the blessings and guidance of Sri. H.H. Hanagal Kumarswamy and H.H.Jagadguru Sri.Siddhalinga Shivacharya Swamiji of Ujjaini. It has been formally registered as ‘MADRAS VEERASAIVA VIDYAVARDHAKA SANGHA’ on March 7th 1918 under the President ship of Sri. Kowthalda Gurushanthappa and Vice-President ship of Sri. Togari Veeramallappa. It was later changed to ‘VEERASAIVA VIDYAVARDHAKA SANGHA’ Ballari, when the district was merged with Mysore State in 1933. The activities of Sangha began with providing free hostel for Boys of Veerasaiva Community at Sri. Sakkari Karadappa Chowki and later at Gandhi Nagar with the help of Togari Veeramallappa.
Right from the inception, the Sangha has concentrated its efforts in the most needed and vital areas. It is proud on the part of us to name some services:

- Technical Education.
